Faro Airport is located 4 miles west of Faro, Portugal. When you arrive at the airport one of the first things you will notice is the airplane hanging from the ceiling.
In the arrival hall you will find the desks for the car hire companies which are there to serve you and make your visit to Faro easier. Avis, Hertz, Budget, National, Alamo, Sixt Auto Jardim and Europcar are just a few of the car hire companies at the airport.
Downstairs is the main seating area and some coffee shops; but if you go upstairs there you will find several restaurants, coffee shops, banks, stores and a post office.
Each year between April and October the airport has a large outdoor coffee shop with a nice terrace where you can buy various snacks and drinks.
If you are visiting on business the airport does have a large conference room available with a tv and video which can accommodate 65 people.
In the main departure hall you will find a lounge which sells alcohol, a newspaper shop and a sweet shop. In addition you can find small airport shops selling gifts, perfumes, and other items.
The airport is mostly used by tourists visiting this remarkable city; but it is now seeing an increase in business travellers. This is largely due to it being one of Europe’s low cost airports.
The transport facilities to and from the airport include a wide selection of taxi’s, busses and car hire. Downtown you will find numerous hotels, shops, historical buildings, golf courses and much more.
