The developments in the Austrian Airlines company has sparked an interest in Air France and Aeroflot of Russia. The shares of the government may be sold in the nearby future to a private sector. Both of the interested companies may purchase a part of the shares in Austrian Airlines each if, in the next few months, they do go on the market for sale.

Aeroflot’s chief executive, Valery Okulov, has said that their airline will be keeping an eye on the situation and studying it. He also commented that Aeroflot has had a good deal of experience in buying an airline that is down and restructuring. Okulov did imply that his airline may know the actions that need to be taken so that the misfortunes of the Austrian Airline can be turned around.

The chief executive for Air France, Jean Cyril Spinetta, basically reflected the same sentiments of Aeroflot, making a note that they too were watching the Austrian Airlines’ developments. However, he added that right now it is just too early to discuss it since there is just a lot of waiting going on to see how the Austrian government is going to dispose of its shares.

Over the past few months, Austrian Airlines has had many difficult challenges to face. During the first part of the year, they have had sharp losses. Shortly after a Saudi sheik, that was well off, decided to pull the offer he had for investing in the airline. Austrian Airlines has to find other means of raising the funds that they need now, so that they can stay competitive and develop.
