The Hotels brand, hotels.com, has made the appointment of Matt Walls to be their new Marketing Director of Operations for Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Mr. Walls will take responsibility for the business marketing across the region. Matt, who, since 2003,has held the position of Marketing Head for the Hotels brand, has been appointed in this promotion to be the leader of the expanding marketing operations for the company across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. He is going to be responsible for executing and strategizing all of the offline and online marketing for the region, while continuing to grow a strong team in-house. Before Matt Walls joined the Hotels brand, he was the European Sales and Marketing Head for Buzz, which is the 3rd biggest budget airline in the United Kingdom. Here, he launched the Buzz brand in Europe’s mainland and continued to lead their commercial development outside of the United Kingdom.

This year, the Hotels brand has initiated local language websites for Greece, Estonia, Ukraine, Turkey, Iceland, Lithuania, Croatia, and a lot of others, which brings the number of sites to 31 in the EMEA region, where 24 of them are localized. Nigel Pocklinton, the Director of Management for the Hotels brand in the EMEA region, said that Matt will bring a significant amount of experience to his new position, especially in the online marketing field, where he will drive the company’s natural and paid search marketing strategies, along with growing their marketing of affiliates and display channels. He also has overseen the brand marketing of the Hotels brand successfully in the United Kingdom and other markets around Europe, he continued, and will bring this experience with him as the company of hotels.com continues growing.
