During a recent statement from Ryanair, they announced that their airlines have transported at least 5.66 million passengers in July alone. More notably, this in an increase of 19% in comparison to the recorded numbers of last year. Surprisingly though, the load factor, which is the measure of how many passengers are actually filling the aircrafts that are operated, for Ryanair fell to 89%, which was only 1%. During the airline’s statement, they expressed that they are strongly confident about the strength of their growth in traffic in the middle of the economic conditions, where they have taken plenty of measures in order to guarantee that they offer the cheapest fares, aside from avoiding the high cost of fuel during the winter. Ryanair also added that the strong figures of their growth proves that the travel for budget airfare is rapidly growing as their competitors are increasing their already high airfare and surcharges for fuel.
Stephen McNamara, the Head of Communications for Ryanair, said that the latest figures for passenger numbers proves that they are growing rapidly in the number of passengers they have transported this year. The more significant point about the figures is that they have carried more than 15 million passengers during the past 3 months, he continued, and the passengers have become more attracted to their guaranteed cheapest airfares and their promise of never placing a fuel surcharge on them. During the last year until the end of last month, Ryanair has assisted around 54.19 million passengers with their travel needs, putting their load factor at an average of about 81%. In the middle of a period when many carriers have had to take opposing decisions in order to manage the global crisis, Ryanair’s positive measures have made a great impression on the aviation industry.
