September has been a rollercoaster month for United Airlines. Just last week an old news story caused shares of the airline to plummet as investors were told United was heading toward bankruptcy. After the story was sorted out shares of the airline quickly increased. This week the airline is being honored as the “Best North American Airline” at the Asia Pacific Travel Awards.

This high honor has been awarded to the airline for the last seven years proving that international travelers prefer United over other carriers operated out of the United States. A representative from United Airlines said “The Asia-Pacific region has always been and important part of United’s global strategy and we will continue to work hard to bring quality products and services to customers in this region.”

United receiving the distinction for several years has led others in the industry to wonder what United is doing that they are not. In recent months United has converted many of their planes to allow for 180 degree flat beds. In addition United offers three levels of seating for international travelers. The first class and business sections are provided along with an economy option which provides travelers with more leg room than the competitors.
