Colleen LaRose, residing at suburban Pennsylvania and whose online nickname is ‘Jihad Jane’, was indicted by the Justice Department for several criminal charges – including providing material support to terrorists, planning to kill somebody abroad, giving false statements to authorities, trying to commit suicide five years ago and identity falsification.

The accusation was heavily supported by an email of a conspirator, which states how LaRose’s American passport and fair complexion would make it simpler for her to operate unnoticed. Holding a US passport, she can effortlessly blend herself among Westerners. A law officer involved in the case described LaRose having green eyes and blond hair.

Meanwhile in related news, the Irish police had conducted raids in Cork and Waterford to arrest four males and three females believed to be working with ‘Jihad Jane’. The suspects are believed to be plotting an attack to Swedish artist Lars Vilks, whose 2007 drawing of Mohammed with a body of a dog angered many Muslims.

Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security is suggesting that airports should screen more the nationals of terror-prone countries. The security agency believes the move could have caught the would-be Nigerian bomb carrier Umar Farouk Abdaulmutallab and Richard Reid, a British national of Jamaican heritage who recently made headlines for carrying bombs under his shoes.

However, ethic profiling could be humiliating and annoying for dignitaries of countries like Pakistan, who are currently assisting the US in crushing the al-Qaeda. Kalsoom Lakhani, a Pakistani national who directs a local philanthropic organization, told the media that the proposed security rule makes her more nervous in travelling rather than safer.
