The prestigious Australian National Travel Industry Awards have been announced for 2010.
The premier industry-recognition accolades, that are voted for by the country’s travel professionals, named Hertz as the Best Car / Campervan Rental Operator, marking the fourth consecutive year the group has taken the top honour in the car hire division.
Hertz Australia Regional Vice President and Managing Director, Jacqueline Lehmann, said that Hertz was again honoured to be nominated by the industry’s leading individuals and suppliers, and that she welcomed the continued support of her peers. This year’s award comes on the back of the 2009 NTIA ‘three-peat’, which saw Hertz recognised with induction to the Australian Federation of Travel Agents Hall of Fame, meaning that building on such success was an achievement in itself. Ms Lehmann claimed the ongoing endorsement of the brand was a tribute to the commitment of Hertz employees across Australia.
The last year has been one of the most difficult ever to challenge the global travel industry according to Ms Lehmann, but Australia has thankfully been mostly spared from ruinous situations that have plagued Europe and the Middle East, and to a lesser extent Asia and the Americas. Hertz was able to keep afloat through a series of innovative offerings, such as The Fun Collection of Mini Coopers and the contrasting Prestige Fleet of Lexus and Mercedes luxury vehicles.
Operating at over 200 locations across Australia, Hertz is the world’s largest general use brand for car rental, and is found in 146 countries across more than 8,200 locations.
