Leading Asian car rental organisation Avis has announced the launch of a new branch in Ho Chi Minh City.

Ho Chi Minh City, previously known as Saigon, is Vietnam’s economic, technology, science, commerce and industry hub and is the country’s leading financial driving force.

The opening in Ho Chi Minh City coincides with the Avis philosophy of expansion in the rapidly growing Southeast Asian market and aims to meet increasing demand of visitors to the region. The new outlet means that Avis is the sole international car rental outfit that serves two areas of the nation.

The new depot is located in the Binh Thanh District of Ho Chi Minh City, at No 86, D3 Street, just a short walk from the heart of the central city. It will serve both domestic and foreign business and leisure travellers, along with the local market. The office will feature a wide range of leasing, rental and chauffeur driven options, from compact to mid-sized vehicles, sports sedans to luxury cars, including such leading brands as Toyota, Audi and Mercedes Benz.

In addition to the basic rental services, the company has also introduced Avis Ambassadors – English speaking local drivers – who can provide travel information and valuable sightseeing advice. The professionally trained staff at the downtown office are all fluent in English to meet the needs of the expat community, diplomatic visitors and of course, international tourists. They can also make onward bookings for customers over 160 worldwide destinations.
