Travelers looking to travel on Germany’s second-largest carrier should consider booking their hotel accommodation through the airline. Air Berlin has partnered with Booking.com, and their customers receive 500 bonus miles for each room they book through the carrier. Beginning September 1st , the partnership between the two travel giants began offering the bonus miles for every hotel booked through Air Berlin’s website.

“What makes this Air Berlin offer so special is its complete lack of restrictions – it applies to any date of travel and any of the 52,000 worldwide hotels featured on the website,” according to Air Berlin’s Johannes Ganser, Head of Customer Liaison and Partnerships. Booking.com and Air Berlin have had the partnership for some time, but it has grown in popularity in recent months.

Booking.com has partnered with more than 4,500 affiliates worldwide, and is now Europe’s top online hotel booking site. The new partnership between Air Berlin and Booking.com means that each of Booking.com’s online hotel partners are now featured on the Air Berlin website in a spreadsheet, and can be sorted by destination, and customers can choose to book their hotel room at the same time their flight is booked. Air Berlin will also be displaying the Booking.com logo both on their websites and their physical locations. Mathis Boldt, the new Area Manager Germany for Booking.com, has said that: “In this way, Booking.com gains visibility at Air Berlin’s ticket and check-in desks, as well as in the planes’ boarding areas and on the in-flight television channels.”
