Britain’s leading car hire company Europcar has announced the UK launch of EuropcarClub which offers the flexibility of daily car hire with the benefits of a car club membership. The UK launch is a continuation of the successful French roll out in 2008.
The program is a subscription based service which has two tiers – Premium and Easy. The company claims that Europcarclub membership is ideally suited to those unwilling to purchase a second car but still want the flexibility of options. Other attractions include a range of green cars for the more environmentally conscious. EuropcarClub can also tailor business packages to companies that are unwilling to lease or buy their own vehicles.
Recent research undertaken by Europcar indicated that of all European nations, Britain was the most open to car sharing, with 34 percent of Britons in favour of the move compared with 28 percent on the continent. Interestingly, research also showed that 18 – 34-year-olds were the most in favour of giving up their cars.
Of the two tiers of membership, Easy provides low daily hire rates on all vehicles without any additional costs such as those for one-way hire or excess cover.
The Premium service also offers discounted rates including the Prestige fleet, which offers several leading brands of luxury automobiles.
EuropcarClub guarantees all customers that vehicles are just 6 months old on average, with many of the newer range being grouped by CO2 emissions. Europcar has won high praise for its low emission and fuel efficient fleets which can use up to 33 percent less fuel than average road cars.
