Budget Rent-A-Car is increasing its presence in the UAE by opening three new branches in Dubai. The firm, which is the world’s most popular van and car rental service, has already set up at the first new location in Burji Downtown. Right in the heart of Dubai’s business and tourism centre, the branch will cater for visitors to the Dubai International Financial Centre and tourists staying around the Sheikh Zayed Road area.

The new expansion plans were announced this week by the Liberty Investments Company which is Budget Rent-A-Car’s major franchisee within the UAE.

Speaking about the move, Salim Damji, Budget UAE’s senior general manager, said that with the recovering economy, the car rental group has decided to be “bullish” with the aim of achieving 20 percent growth. He added that the new branch in Burji Downtown is a positive step for the company which is looking to become more visible in Dubai.

Dubai Marine will also receive a new branch later this year, along with Dubai Investments Park. The new hubs will see Budget’s presence in the UAE increase to more than 6,000 vehicles at 17 branches.

Despite the company’s aim of 20 percent growth, Damji announced that he is privately hoping that Budget can achieve at a least a 25 percent increase in sales over the next two years. He added that the firm always strives to give customers the best possible prices and is helped by its nationalised facilities, its globally recognised brand name and its modern fleet of vehicles.
