The multi-award winning carrentals.co.uk has once again topped the search rankings for car hire related internet queries.
Using statistics based on Google’s natural search engine carrentals.co.uk achieved a massive 54% market share for terms related to hire car in September. The month saw 1.5 million searches performed under car hire with carrentals.co.uk beating out the competition to place first among 147 leading search terms, out of a total of some 3,800 analysed keywords. The latest report into the hire car sector is by Greenlight, the leading marketing agency for independent search engine studies.
The Greenlight report further found that domestic and worldwide searches for the month of September were also topped by the consistently high performing site, with market shares of 63 percent and 52 percent being achieved respectively. Furthermore, carrentals.co.uk was, across all hire car related key terms, the most visible of all websites.
“Greenlight’s report highlights the strength of our position online, with our expertise in search engine optimisation positioning us at the forefront of the market. Despite the recession, 2009 has been a great year for us, with our sales outstripping targets across the board,” said carrentals.co.uk managing director Gareth Robinson.
The massive success attained by the company has taken just six years after its initial 2003 launch as a hire broker. A revamp in 2007 saw carrentals.co.uk change its approach to become a comparative rentals site with recognition following soon after with the 2008 Travolution Award for Best Car Hire Website. This year alone saw an increase in summer revenue of 72 percent with year on year bookings growing by 32 percent.
Some 9,000 worldwide locations are available through carrentals.co.uk including leading companies such as Budget, Sixt, Holiday Autos, easyCar and Alamo.
