Investigators trying to figure out what caused the plane crash near Dillingham in Alaska, which took the lives of Senator Ted Stevens and Sean O’Keefe, former chief of Nasa, say that, at present, they are looking at numerous possibilities. The 1957 DeHavilland DHC-3T crashed into a mountainside 17 miles to the north of the town of Dillingham on Monday.

In the period following any potential takeover of Dollar Thrifty, the Hertz group could achieve cost savings of USD$180 according to its CEO.

The Parisian electric-car sharing program, Autolib, is on track for next year’s launch.
A fleet of 3,000 vehicles has been ordered by city officials for what will be the largest such operation in the world. The city hopes to emulate the popular bicycle rental system Velib, despite that program sustaining severe damages from customers.
Autolib, abbreviated from ‘auto liberte’, will allow city residents to reserve and electric vehicle across the city whenever the need arises, while avoiding the high-profile issues of traffic congestion, parking and pollution.

The Chairman of the Commonwealth Games organising committee has denied any accusations of misusing funds.
According to Mumbai-based television channel TimesNow, the organising committee has allegedly paid a small London company close to USD$600,000 for the provision of makeshift toilets, road barriers and rental cars.
Committee chairman Suresh Kalmadi said he was pained by what he termed baseless and unfounded allegations, adding that he would likely be suing the news source for defamation. The media channel has claimed that around USD$585,000 was transferred by the committee to A.M. Films, which had already been receiving USD$32,500 in monthly payments.
