Economy car hire has announced plans aimed at making sure rental car users are not left short in the event of a car hire shortage.
The economic recovery has seen visitor numbers and the general tourism industry in the UK rebound strongly from last year’s dire recession levels, leaving many industry analysts fearing a car hire shortage across Britain. This, couple with recent reductions to overall scale and quality of rental fleets, has meant that many would-be car hire users are finding it increasingly difficult to get their hands on their desired vehicle. Economy Car Hire has then vowed that its new approach will be tailored squarely towards travellers to the UK who have been unable to find a car from rival companies.
Britain is not the only destination suffering from a rental shortage, with car hire companies in Spain experiencing similar lack of availability, notably in the popular resort location of Alicante. Economy Car Hire has also announced that it has made available a significant number of hire vehicles for Spanish holidays at lower rates than competitors.
Customers are currently facing the most damaging effects of a car hire shortage – lack of vehicles and grossly inflated prices. Some unfortunate holidaymakers have even had their reservations cancelled as the spring and summer season becomes heavily booked up.
While car rental shortages are not unusual during the peak summer months, the contributing factors this season have combined to make the situation worse than normal. Economy Car Hire has taken measures to counter any surges and remains committed to stepping into the breach when other organisations fail to meet demand.
