The 4th of March will be a memorable day for hire car customers and the Sixt Rent A Car group alike, with the day marking the occasion of the London launch of the new electric car hire system.

The Fulham-Chelsea branch for Sixt will debut the environmentally friendly C1 Ev’ie vehicles from Citroen, meaning customers at the rental centre can choose between traditional favourites and the more eco-conscious alternate.

The C1 Ev’ie is perfect for inner-city driving, and London is the ideal launch city. The vehicle is identical to a standard Citroen C1, having five doors and plenty of room for four passengers. Customers can also take advantage of designated parking and recharge points throughout the city and, most importantly for many, be exempt from the contentious congestion charge.

Also of great benefit to hire car customers, in addition to playing the part in saving the environment, is the greatly reduced fuel and operating costs. This means that while eliminating CO2 emissions, drivers can effectively top up for as little as 95p when using a standard domestic power point.

The C1 Ev’ie has a range of around 75 miles and a top speed of 60mph. The new vehicle will be on display at the Fulham-Chelsea branch for the interested public.
