The Dublin based Solaris Mobile Ltd, which operates a number of terrestrial and hybrid satellite wireless networks across the European continent has announced a new partnership with car hire giant Europcar.
The technology group hopes that the Europcar agreement will provide them with the opportunity to highlight the great potential held for delivering broadcast services and next generation broadband to the upwardly mobile community. The new hybrid network from Solaris offers downloadable data and video in addition to voice services usually only available on fixed lines.
The latest move from the Irish company continues their long history of creating partnerships for pan-European businesses with many now working with Solaris as broadband services develop, meaning wide scale improvements and new technologies in radio, television and the internet.
Industry leader Europcar has once again been at the forefront of new services and technology to benefit the rental customer. The group has always prided itself on being at the leading edge of the market and the Solaris Mobile system will be showcased initially in a small range of Parisian hire cars. Solaris Mobile employees are also trialling the new system in their own hire cars from Europcar. The first offerings will feature radio and television services through either the main multimedia system in the vehicle or by a separate device placed inside. The exciting new vehicles will be on display at the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week.
