Rental car giant Europcar has announced the launch of its new competition which features a Fiat 500 after being awarded, for the second consecutive year, European Leader for CO2 Emissions.

British hire car drivers had best phone a friend on the continent as the competition is only available to residents who live within the Fiat Green area region. Entry into the competition is open to those based in Belgium, Austria, Portugal, Spain Italy, France and Germany. The competition will run until the 15th of October and can only be played on the Fiat Green website.

The game challenges competitors to answer five questions correctly from Europcar’s online rental game to be in with the chance of taking away one of two Fiat 500s. The questions regard the group’s environmental policy and the benefits of the eco-friendly Fiat 500.

The Europcar website showcases a range of eco-friendly vehicles in the green micro-car fleet, with the Fiat 500 being just one of seven options. Each vehicle has its full specifications and emissions details listed on the website with most vehicles ranging from 110 – 119g/km in terms of output. The Fiat is the most environmentally friendly of the range but is also regarded as an excellent overall vehicle having been awarded the prestigious ‘European Car of the Year’ Award in 2008.

The latest award reiterates Europcars dominance of the eco-friendly car market and joins other notable titles such as the World’s Leading Green Transport Solution Company which followed soon after the group became the first hire car company in Europe to achieve Green Charter certification.
