Reports now show that the huge decrease in demand for hotels and air travel is predicted to increase for most parts of the world by 2010. Although these low rates have not ended just yet, recent reports show that it will be ending soon.

Out of all the places where fares are set in rise, China and India are among the highest. In the American Express Travel Forecast, which was released November 9th, they show that each countries’ air fares will rise about five percent. However, hotel rates are set to increase as well.

The rise in hotel prices in Asia is not expected elsewhere according to American Express. Unlike the rise in air fare, the hotel prices in Asia will go up while hotel prices are predicted to drop by four and a half percent in North America. Hotel rates will also drop by two percent in Europe and six percent in Latin America to get more people staying in hotels.

The good news for many airlines is that, after nearly a year of discounting, air fares seem to be set to rise around the world for next year. Europeans should expect higher rates for high end air fare. The forecast shows that business class airfare will likely increase by three percent for 2010.

Although airlines will see an increase in 2010, it may not be enough to save some down and out airlines. This increase is good, but airlines have been discounting for almost a year; and it will take time to get fares back up to profitable levels.
