All customers that fly with Gulf Air could be looking at benefiting from a new baggage allowance that has just been announced by the carrier. It now seems that the carrier could have one of the highest economy class baggage allowances worldwide.

Gulf Air, which is Bahrain’s National carrier, is now set to increase the number of free bags that can be checked in. This increase is apparently going to change for all three class levels. This new generous baggage allowance comes at a time when many other airlines are starting to charge more for bringing extra bags.

According to the new Gulf Air baggage policy, which will come into affect today, passengers flying in any of the three classes will see an increase in the weight allowance for bags of 10kg. This new increase now sets Gulf Air’s bag weight allowance well over what most standard airlines allow.

Of course, the Gold and Sliver members for Gulf Air’s frequent flyer program, will also be able to enjoy an additional baggage allowance as well. This allowance will include an extra 15kgs for silver members and an extra 20kgs for gold members.

The Gulf Air Chief Commercial Officer, Mr Willy Boulter, said that the decision to increase the allowance on bags is a direct response from the feedback that has been left by customers. These customers are looking for more flexibility, and Gulf Air is set to deliver. During a time when many other airlines are increasing their fees on baggage, Gulf Air is set to allow more baggage for free. Just a small way to give back to the loyal Gulf Air customers.
