Dorna Sports, the company that holds the rights to the MotoGP, has signed a new agreement with leading car hire operator Hertz.

The new deal will see Hertz sign a one-year contract for the provision of equipment and car rental services for the leading motorcycle racing championship. The MotoGP is one of sport’s premier competitions, with 14 different countries visited across 18 different race tracks on four continents, while the pan-global television coverage ensures huge revenue streams for the event.

Established in 1949 by the FIM (Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme), the MotoGP is now in its 62nd successful year. It is the world’s oldest motorsports championship, and features the best riders on the planet in advanced-technology, high-speed machinery.

The deal will see Hertz, for the remainder of 2010, provide Dorna Sports with a full range of car rental options, temperature controlled rentals and power generation facilities for the international season which began last month. Hertz will bring the benefit of years of rental experience to the MotoGP in addition to the Hertz Energy Services (HES) and Equipment Rental divisions, which have featured at major sporting events, festivals and concerts.

HES will provide the power generators that will be used on every MotoGP paddock along with climate control systems for teams and VIP areas. Hertz will also look to offer a unique range of services throughout 2010 to highlight its management of the event.
