Hertz, the world’s largest car rental company and premier hire organization inside the United Arab Emirates, has been ranked the region’s leader under a new survey using mystery shopper. The survey was undertaken by Dubai-based Arabian Travel News and Ethos Consultancy, a leading travel publication for the travel industry.

The leading rental group in the UAE, won points for its keenly maintained depot appearance, ease of access to location, tidiness and cleanliness including how well employees are presented and groomed. This included the prominent display of name tags in addition to the actual length of time a customer was kept waiting and the overall experience for the customer during the transaction. These areas saw Hertz leverage of its outstanding reputation to attain an overall score of 91 percent.

Hertz UAE General Manager Nigel Johnson welcomed the latest results, saying the scoring was a testament to the work ethic and commitment of the Hertz team. Describing the award as great, Johnson reiterated the company’s belief that people were the organisation’s greatest asset. Johnson also added that Hertz will continue to ensure that all employees are provided with the relevant skills and training to enhance the customer experience.

The ATN article held special praise for one Hertz UAE employee, Vince Fernandez, who is based at the West Tower of the Radisson Hotel in Media City. Fernandez scored highly for his attention to detail and well-structured information that ticked off all the boxes on the mystery shopper list. He also won accolades for establishing the wants and needs of his customer in addition to offering promotional details and an information brochure.
