Most employers frown on their employees playing video games while on the clock. Sure some employers have game consoles in the break room but most don’t encourage playing, unless they are employees of Hilton Garden Inns.

Employees at Hilton’s Garden Inns are the first in the hospitality industry to experience interactive training via a gaming console. Developed exclusively for Hilton Garden Inns the game Ultimate Team Play is compatible with the PSP portable gaming system. The game which was designed by Virtual Heroes Inc provides an interactive way to get employees involved.

Designed to mimic actual guest reactions to certain situations the game players are given a series of real life events that could occur during their shifts. Based on the situation the employee is asked to solve the problem as efficiently as possible without causing any further problems. Regardless of their position in the hotel chain each employee has an interactive game character. From housekeeping to front desk everyone is included in the gaming experience.

The game was introduced in late summer 2008 in select locations for testing. Based on the excitement generated during the beta testing Hilton will be releasing the game to all Garden Inn locations in the United States and Europe in early 2009. So the next time you visit a Hilton Garden Inn don’t get upset if you see someone playing a video game. They are working to make your experience better.
