The well known hotel chain Iberostart Hotels and Resorts has announced that it will be deploying a health and safety risk management audit system in 29 of its hotels. Right now the system will be placed in hotels located in Morocco, Turkey, Bulgaria, Tunisia, Croatia, and Greece.

The system, known as the the E Cristal, is made by Check Safety First and will be used to help manage and improve food hygiene standards in all of its hotels across these territories. The system is also going to be supported by monthly unannounced audits and ongoing advice to ensure hotels are compliant with the Cristal mark. It will also be making sure that it is in accordance with the World Health Organization guidelines.

The CEO at Check Safety First, Mark Harrington, said: “Ibersotar Hotels & Resorts’ properties are spread across several geographical areas which makes delivering one consistent hygiene standard more difficult. By implementing E-Cristal, each hotel is provided with a chain-wide template for food hygiene processes, which far exceeds any local legislation that is in place within their individual region.”

After each hotel within the chain has successfully maintained and demonstrated a high standard of food hygiene using the E Crstal sytsem, it will be listed on the consumer website.

This is yet another step in the flight for the hotel industry to stay ahead of the game. Right now many companies are doing all they can to stay ahead of the game and make sure that consumers want to stay with them instead of other chains. Each company is coming up with their own ideas.
