Renovations on the IHG Hotel Cass in Chicago have been completed.
The property is now known as Hotel Cass: a Holiday Inn Express at Magnificent Mile; a brand owned by hotel giant InterContinental Hotels group. The $500,000 renovation scheme brought major upgrades to all guest rooms, the corridors and also to the brand new fitness room. All 174 rooms will now feature leather work chairs and granite desktops.
The establishment will feature all the Holiday Inn Express brand standards including free wireless Internet access and complimentary continental breakfast, but IHG retained some of the Hotel Cass’ previous features to keep a ‘boutique’ hotel feel to the property.
The property’s manager, George Jordan, who also manages Chicago’s Felix Hotel, said that the hotel values its guests and that the renovations, which range from fresh carpeting to a new fitness centre, would satisfy both holidaymakers and business travellers for years to come.
The new concept came via leading hospitality design and procurement firm Gettys. Among the improvements are new plush linens in every guest room, new luxury bathroom fixtures and new artwork in the rooms and in the hallways. Additionally, the hotel was fitted with new window treatments, wall coverings and slate tile surfaces on the elevator landings.
