Rajasthan director of tourism, Vinod Ajmera proposed on Tuesday that Rajasthan and Gujurat take steps together to promote their struggling tourist industries.
Ajmeira had just given a presentation at a road show to promote tourism where she pointed out that 13 per cent of domestic tourists in Rajasthan are from Gujarat, while many domestic tourist in other Indian spots are also from Gujarat.
“Both Gujarat and Rajasthan share commonalities in terms of culture, rituals and lifestyle of people. They are also seen as safest destinations in the country. Hence, Gujarat and Rajasthan at private as well as government level can work together to promote tourism. Gujarat can also attract foreign tourists as Rajasthan does. If we jointly promote, we can safely invite foreign as well as domestic tourist other than the tourists of the two states,” said Ajmera.
The Rajasthan government is taking steps to set up special tourist police stations designed to protect tourists. Ajmera explained that as many large steps are being taken to promote tourism they will first introduce measures to make sure that tourists will be safe in Rajasthan. This will ensure that foreign and domestic tourists feel comfortable and safe in Rajasthan.
