Fiji’s InterContinental Golf Resort & Spa has been recognised as the South Pacific’s most luxe resort.
The honour came as part of DestinAsian’s 2010 Luxe List, which further strengthened the resort’s reputation for delivering top of the line service and luxury. The resort was the only property in Fiji to be featured on the list.
Properties were judged on a set of criteria including appearance, location, service and value by editors from the travel and lifestyle publication. The InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa consists of 35 acres of lush tropical gardens set on pristine Fijian coastline. It includes its own beach, four swimming pools, a dive centre, championship golf, spa and more.
The recognition of the InterContinental Fiji comes just after the property launched its new Club InterContinental. The venture is said to be a new resort within the resort and features 55 suites set on a hilltop, each of which boasts 24-hour butler service, Cleopatra baths, Pure Fiji products, evening cocktails and afternoon tea.
Scott Williams, general manager of InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa, called the award an honour. He said that it comes as a reflection of the resort’s commitment to offering a higher standard of luxury that visitors to Fiji haven’t previously experienced.
