Budget carrier Jet2 is set to launch its new Glasgow hub with seven different nonstop routes.

Of the new flights, the airline says it appears from advance bookings that Cyprus will perhaps be the most popular destination for Glasgow residents over the summer months, noting that fares to Paphos start at just £69.99 each way, taxes included. Other new destinations include holiday favourites such as Tenerife Sud and Palma de Mallorca in the Canary Islands, in addition to Nice, France; Faro, Algarve, Portugal; and Dalman, Turkey.

The airline said it carefully selected all seven of the new routes to cater to the desires of consumers in the Glasgow market and included all-time favourites in addition to the newest hotspots such as Dalman and the Algarve.

Ian Doubtfire, managing director for Jet2 said that so far customer feedback regarding the new routes had been positive. He added that by flying on Jet2, customers would recieive a baggage allowance of 22kg as well as advance seat assignments and loyalty points.

Meanwhile, Glasgow airport officials have also reacted positively to the new service. Managing Director Amanda McMillan said that the strong uptake on all seven of the new Jet2 routes was ‘encouraging’.
