UK budget carrier Jet2 is expanding its summertime services to Portugal, Spain and other destinations due to high demand.
The airline said it would significantly increase the number of flights to these sunny areas from the north of England and Scotland as a result of ‘overwhelming’ demand. Carrier officials added that seats would likely go quickly and as a result have updated the website to allow customers to book as early as possible.
According to a statement from the low-cost airline, additional flights to Tenerife would be added from Leeds Bradford Airport, bringing the total number of available flights to four each week. Additionally, the Yorkshire airport will also see the addition of a Sunday flight to Murcia.
Meanwhile, Glasgow will see six flights a week to Majorca over the summer whilst two additional flights to Alicante from Newcastle Airport will be added. Similarly, Manchester airport will see additional flights added to both Majorca and Alicante, meaning there will be two daily flights from the airport on both Friday and Sunday each week of the summer.
Additional expansions will include more flights to Malaga, Ibiza and Tenerife, as well as to a number of Turkish destinations from Manchester Airport.
