“Hertz Mustang” is a term that you may have heard before. This refers to the special Mustang that Shelby developed for Hertz’s rental company, which is known officially as GT350H.
However, Hertz is now kicking things into a higher gear by offering a special version of the Corvette as a rental, which is called the ZHZ. This Corvette is a build off of the standard version. It also has the new LS3V8 and a sport exhaust to bump up the cars power to 436 horses. The ZHZ has a V8 that is mated with an automatic transmission, just like most cars in the North American rental market do. However, it does provide paddle-shift actuation as an advantage.
There are other cool features of the Corvette ZHZ which include a selective suspension that is magnetic, and unique 18-inch chrome-clad wheels in the front and alloy 19-inch wheels in the rear. It also includes a special Hertz Yellow paint job with centered black stripes that coat the Corvette’s fiberglass body. On the inside of the car, you will find that the armrest has specific badging and the floor mats are custom stitched. There is even a Hertz logo on the front fender of the vehicle.
Hertz has requested that General Motors build 500 of the Corvette ZHZ models. Starting this month, customers will be able to rent one of these for the first time, but they will only be available exclusively. Only in 24 cities in the United States will it be available to renters for the first time.
