It seems that Kiss Flights, which operates from eight UK airports outside of Scotland, will be offering 12 summer routes to Mediterranean destinations starting in April. Some of the areas that people will be able to fly to include Spain, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus and Portugal. A spokesman for the company said that the flights will be operated on behalf of Kiss Flights by Swedish carrier Viking Airlines, using a Boeing 737 aircraft.
The director of Kiss Flights, Paul Moss, said that this airline has been enjoying a period of strong growth, and they are delighted to be able to offer these new flights from Glasgow Airport. Ever since the demise of Flyglobespan, they have had unprecedented requests from the travel trade to offer increased capacity from Scotland.
The managing director of Glasgow Airport, Amanda McMillan, said that Kiss Flights has a great deal of past experiences in the UK travel industry, and they have made a significant commitment to Glasgow Airport this year. They have been serving many of the destinations once served by Globespan group.
Amanda said that they are going to make good progress in their efforts to backfill the capacity lost by Globespan. This latest announcement from Kiss Flights is further good news for all passengers. She pointed out that they are determined to ensure that holidaymakers continue to have a wide choice of airlines and destinations from Glasgow. Competition equals lower prices for all travelers.
Amanda went on to add that this is the first of several announcements that they hope to make in the coming weeks as they continue to do their best to fill these slots. They hope in securing some new international routes from Glasgow.
