Tons of fireworks filled the skies over Legoland as the theme park celebrated its 10th year anniversary. Also to help bring in this grand event, Legoland announced a special Star Wars weekend, as well as the opening of two brand new attractions.
On top of the traditional Fourth of July display, the Carlsbad theme park is going to have a fireworks show every Saturday night that will start about 8:30 p.m. On these nights the park is set to remain open until 9p.m.
Also, set for June 13 and 14, Darth Vader and his 501st Legion of storm troopers will be invading Legoland parks. During this very special event, guests at Legoland will be able to interact with Darth Vader, as well as take part in a Droid Hunt, video game battles, and even trivia competitions. Also, there will be Lego building activities and scavenger hunts. There is also set to be a daily costume contest.
There will also be the addition of Egyptian bazaar motif, which will include interactive Lego model scenes. This will be the fifth attraction in the Land of Adventure. The Sea Life Aquarium is also growing. It is scheduled to launch a new interactive exhibit called Sharks Revealed. This new addition is suppose to help introduce children to the mysterious creatures of the deep. This exhibit does have hands on displays, as well as presentations of the life cycle and evolution of sharks.
The new shark exhibit at Legoland is set to replace the Kelp Forest exhibit, which has been on display since the aquarium opened up last August.
