Legoland Windsor has just made a partnership with RealD to upgrade its park’s Imagination Theatre to include state of the art RealD 3D technology. The dual projector system that was in place in the Theatre has now been replaced with a single digital projector. It has also been outfitted with RealD’s award winning XL Cinema System. This marks the very first time that ReadD has ever been installed in a European theme park. However, this is the second partnership between Legoland and RealD. The agreement started off by incorporating ReadD technology in Legoland California in the United States.
The maintenance director of Legoland Windsor, Kieran Masher, said that this new technology should give their guests a greatly improved experience. They want audiences to see crisper and clearer 3D visuals, and this is something that ReadD 3D technology can offer. Legoland Windsor also noted that these new systems need a lot less maintenance to keep up and running, which means a lot less down time for the projector system.
Two of the shows that will be offered on this new projector will be Spellbreaker 4D and Bob the Builder in 4D. These shows will offer the guests a great digital 3D effect with some environment elements to really take them into the show. This includes wind and water that the audience can actually feel. Other shows will be released later on the same system. All shows will offer out of this world experiences for people of all ages. Legoland says that is why people come to this park, and that is what they want to deliver.
