Free electric car hire is now being offered by the Kensington hotel base2stay.
The London Hotel, in the city’s inner-west, has a proud history of being at the forefront of eco-friendly programs and has won consistent praise for its green credentials in an industry which is seen as being often wasteful.
Under the new complimentary rental program, guests at base2stay will be entitled to enjoy up to four hours worth of free electric car hire this summer using the highly acclaimed Citroen EV’ie. The Citroen, which will be supplied to the hotel by the eco-friendly car hire company Move About, is able to be fully re-charged at the hotel overnight at no cost.
Robert Nadler, CEO for base2stay, told reporters that the partnership between the hotel and Move About is an exciting one, and one which allows his organisation to continue to be a pioneer in the field of innovative and environmentally-friendly transport. By joining forces with industry leading electric rental specialists, base2stay will provide its guests with a unique opportunity to see for themselves just how convenient and cost effective the green technology car-sharing scheme could be. It is hoped that the chance to drive an electric vehicle will also lure environmentally conscious guest to the hotel, which is surrounded by several notable London park areas that make for a pleasant outing.
The cars, which have a range of 75 miles in between charges and can carry up to five people with luggage, will be priced at £4 per hour from October 1.
