Lufthansa is now saying that passengers will enjoy sunshine or their money back. This is what passengers could be seeing if their holidays are ruined by downpours thanks to the fact that Lufthansa has began to offer compensation for rainy days to 36 different destinations. Some of these destinations include places like New York, Rome, and even Barcelona.
Lufthansa will be offering passengers who book from Germany a €20 compensation for every rainy day. Passengers will be able to get compensation up to a maximum of ten rainy days. This sunshine deal will be offered to all passengers who book flights until August 18. The special deal is valid on flights departing between September 1 to October 31.
The carrier says that it defines a rainy day as a day that gets at least 5mm of rainfall per square meter falling in one of its designated destinations. Some of the other 36 destinations that will be able to offer this deal include Cario, Dubai, Madrid, Washington, and even Istanbul. Any passenger that finds their holidays filled with rainy days, should send their travel vouchers, boarding passes, and a list of the rainy days to their insurer once they return from their trip.
Lufthansa is now one of the many airlines that is offering these rainy day compensation deals. This new deal comes about as many people are wondering if Lufthansa will break even this year with passenger numbers down almost 5 percent from the previous year. Other special deals like this may start to be offered by other airlines who are attempting to get passengers to fly with them.
