A Georgia man recently filed a lawsuit against the governing body of the Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport.

The lawsuit was filed by Georgia resident, Jeffrey Hicks of Cobb County, Georgia in the Benton County Circuit Court makes the argument that unsafe conditions caused the man to fall on his face.   Georgia law does give the airport a responsibility to provide a safe environment without obvious hazards. Maintaining the sidewalks on an icy day could legitimately be seen as their responsibility.

Mr. Hicks claims to have fractured a facial bone and lost several teeth. He further claims to have missed several weeks of work and suffered severe pain.  Both are factors that can increase the eventual compensation if the court finds the airport ultimately responsible.

The lawsuit further claims that Hicks fell he was made to walk on a hazardous area around an icy sidewalk because a luggage cart had carelessly been left on the sidewalk.

Hicks will be asking the court to award him monies for medical expense, legal expenses, as well as pain, suffering and mental anguish.  In all probability the case will be settled out of court.
