Mercedes-Benz Financial has announced a six-month revenue for its iPhone application of $2.5 million.
The group, which claims to be the first automotive finance company to provide its customers with the mobility and flexibility of on-the-go account management, has generated the mobile business since last October’s launch.
Vice President of Marketing for Mercedes-Benz Financial, Andreas Hinrichs, said that the response to the initiative has been overwhelming. The convenience of being able to manage accounts via iPod touch or iPhone was, according to Hinrichs massively favourable.
So responsive was customer feedback that Mercedes-Benz Financial has decided to roll-out the program to the newly released iPad, whose official release has sparked massive interest in auto makers and car rental organisations. The iPad is also a perfect complement to the already sleek and modern Mercedes-Benz range. The additional advantage of the applications across the entire Apple models is that is allows for paperless transactions which ultimately save both the company and the customer time and money.
Since its release late last year, the application has been downloaded more than 11,000 times by Mercedes-Benz customers, while loan or less repayments have numbered over 3,000. The Mercedes-Benz Financial application can be downloaded for free at the Apple App Store and is applicable to the iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch.
