This cruise ship is currently being widely talked about in the industry, largely because of its vast size. It will have a capacity of 4,200-passengers, and it will require a staff of more than 1000. The cruise ship will be one of the largest ever built.

There is still much to be done and it won’t be put into service until the summer of 2010. Yet, it is already garnishing interest from press and industry professionals. Despite needing another year for completion it is already well on its way. Much of it is already constructed, but its massive interior will still need a lot of world. Norwegian Cruise Lines recently invited small group travel writers for a sneak peek.

The ship will be 60% larger than Norwegian’s current biggest ship. It will have the feature of curved cabin walls, and many luxurious Vegas style night spots.

The press peak coincided with the flooding of the dry dock that will allow the ship to be moved for the first time. It is a moment of celebration for builders.  After moved the ship will maintain docked, floating on the water.  Then the work on the ships massive interior will move to the next level.
