New plans have just recently been unveiled for an ice and roller skating rink for one of the best known holiday parks, Pontins. This is part of the £5 million revamp that the park is getting.
A new village square complex and a fairground are also part of this upgrade. This upgrade is going to create 300 permanent and 200 construction jobs over the next three to five years. Also planned for this area is a new amusement arcade and a village square complex. As far as refurbishment goes, the site will see an upgrade to its theater, ballroom, restaurants and sports facilities.
A spokesman for Pontins said that the developments for this summer are part of the program, which is scheduled to take place over the next three years. These planes, which are subject to planning permission, will see the holiday park grow in capacity and will even benefit the local economy.
The number of ownerships opportunities will increase to 5,000 and eventually 7,500 over the next three to five years. The refurbishment is part of a £50 million national revamp of Pontins parks in Southport, Lowestoft and Camber Sands.
Overall, this upgrade will help to bring in even more tourists and locals to Pontins parks over the next few years. Just this last year, Pontins and other holiday parks in the UK saw a nice increase in visitors as many Brits chose to stay in the country for their holiday break. In a bid to keep them coming back for more, Pontins is upgrading their parks.
