A new game from the leading car rental specialist just in time for the World Cup.

With the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa now firmly underway, Avis is looking to capitalise on the football fever which is sweeping the globe with the launch of the new interactive game Road to Glory.

The game is designed for sports and quiz fans, and will be played out online, with a format similar to the World Cup itself. UK residents will be given the chance to partake in the ‘online tournament’, with the first prize being a week’s car hire from Avis anywhere in Europe.

Fans need only select the national team that they wish to play for and an online opponent will be generated randomly. To beat your opponent you must answer a series of quick quiz questions about them, their football team and their country and culture. Comprising a series of short quiz rounds, victors will move on to the second round, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals if they can beat the computer.

Time is of the essence in Road to Glory, with a short space of time allocated for answering each question. Those who answer the questions correctly and in the shortest space of time will have their name placed on the online leader board, while the overall winner receives the car hire prize – designed for a family of four.

Head of Marketing, Avis UK, Nick Mountfield, said that the group wanted to get customers involved in the World Cup excitement.
