Ryanair announced that it is soon to be offering its 107th destination starting May 1, 2009. This new destination will take passengers from London Stansted Airport all the way to Memmingen located in West Munich. At the launch of this new route, Ryanair will be offering this route 10 times a week.
The carrier made note that Memmigen Airport was a good choice for them to go with. This airport is able to provide low cost alternative flights to Munich, which goes along with Ryanair’s low budget fairs. The airline hopes that this new route will help to deliver more than 140,000 additional passengers from the London area all the way to Munich.
Ryanair hopes to be the carrier that people will choose to fly in and out of London to Memmingen with by offering low fares that do not include any kind of fuel surcharge. The airline hopes that this new route will be a key to helping fight off the downturn in the economy. Ryanair also pointed out that the ludicrous tourist taxes were putting a hurting on most airlines, and they hope to count on Gordon Brown to repeal this tourist tax.
A spokesperson for Ryanair said that they were delighted in adding this new route to their base of flights that they already offer. They also made note that Ryanair wanted to celebrate this new route by knocking off 50% on its 1 million lowest fares. This deal is going to be for people who are flying in the European network, and it will take place through April, May, and June.
