In a surprising move, Weddings Day car hire of limousines has been relegated into second position in terms of popularity for the luxury vehicles by the surging demand at school proms. According to Limo Broker, one of the leading limo rental specialists in Britain, chauffeur-driven limousine hire, which has long been dominated by wedding celebrants, has been quickly overtaken by teenagers on their big night out.
The group claims that this year has seen an unprecedented level of demand, particularly for the forthcoming summer prom season, where many vehicles have already been booked out. The reason is the apparent new trend towards US-style school social events, where for many, the occasion plays a distant fiddle to any talk of impending nuptials, although for some the two may become irrevocably linked in time. The phenomenon has been called the equivalent of a kids wedding by Tej Randeva, Managing Director at Limo Broker.
Certainly, the similarities between the two events are clear, although cynics may point out that marriage can take place more than once in lifetime whereas the school prom is literally a once-in-a-lifetime event. While the financial and emotional investment in school events may be somewhat lesser, try explaining that to the attendees.
Limo Broker has created a dedicated website for proms, which features such notable status symbols as a shocking pink Hummer, along with stretch limos, party buses and even revamped fire-engines.
