Car rental organisation Sixt, which offers over 26,000 vehicles from more than 150 locations across Britain, has been declared to be a transparent and fair company by a new report which investigated eight leading car hire operators.
The new survey by Which? Holiday looked at the terms and conditions presented on the respective car rental websites in comparison to the actual cost of car hire while analyzing the transparency of the extras and waivers.
The car hire groups under investigation included Alamo, Budget, Avis, Europcar, Enterprise, National, Hertz and Sixt. The surveys were undertaken at Paris’s Charles De Gaulle Airport and London Heathrow Airport and scrutinized the terms and conditions to qualify if all information was clearly and accurately presented to the customer prior to making a reservation.
The study also determined if it was possible to calculate the total cost of car rental at the reservation stage by looking at any hidden additional costs under waivers and insurance policies.
The results revealed that Sixt was just one of three organisations that provided full details relating to all components of customer car hire along with providing capacity to calculate the full and final cost.
