The well known and award winning hire car company, Sixt Rent A Car, has unveiled a new fuel policy for motorists taking advantage of their Spanish fleet. In what is sure to prove a popular move with British holidaymakers, Sixt’s new fuel option means that vehicle renters can avoid paying any additional fuel charges if they return their hire car with the tank full of petrol.
With the Easter holiday period fast approaching and car rental experts advising to make early reservations for Spanish car hire, the announcement could not be better timed and better suited to the wallets of travelers.
The majority of car hire companies in Spain offer motorists a standardized pre-paid fuel package which sees the tank of the rental full on collection. The new decision from the Sixt group will mean that holiday drivers now can choose between the two options depending on what they feel is better suited to their driving needs, and bank balance.
Sixt claims that the policy change was a direct result of listening to its customers, and acknowledging that car renters simply wanted to have such a choice available. The group also said that holidays are meant to be a special time, for everybody, and that they recognised the important role the experience of hiring a vehicle can play in that time.
In total, there will be three fuel policy options from Sixt. These include the latest full tank on arrival and return, which is thought to be the most economical. The added flexibility comes from the empty return option and also another where the group will charge for the shortfall in the tank.
Sixt operates car rental branches at most Spanish airports including Palma Majorca, Madrid, Malaga, Alicante and Barcelona.
