One of the biggest tourist attractions in the UK, Alton Towers, has just recently released some new details about its £15 million roller coaster. This is the roller coaster that is supposedly so frightening that Alton Towers is considering putting a strict age limit on it for young and old alike.

It has now been noted that parts of a ride at an Alton Towers theme park have been destroyed in a fire. Local firefighters were called to the theme park when flames were seen at the Cloud Cuckoo Land cable car station on the Ski ride.

One school in the UK is offering up a special reward for all of their students who have a 100 percent attendance record. The reward states that all kids that have made it to everyday of school will get to go on an end of the year class trip to Alton Towers. Kingstone High School in Heresfordshire has introduced a new scheme in September that is suppose to reward children that have a 100 percent attendance record with a trip to Alton Towers. According to Alton Towers, more than 10 new rides are in the works for the park over the next decade. On top of this, the park will also be creating almost 700 new jobs as well. Alton Towers says that its bosses are focusing on encouraging people to want to stay longer at the park, either by way of hotels on the resort itself or at nearby hotels.

Alton Towers is now considering building yet another hotel as part of a multi million pound, ten year plan to consolidate the resort’s position as the number one theme park in the UK. This will be the third hotel that will be built in light of this new project.
Merlin Entertainments is set to outline the proposal to the district council within the next two months. The blueprint will include large investment in new rides, as well as infrastructure and heritage features.
