It seems that the budget airline, easyJet, has been able to post strong revenue growth despite its schedules being severely disrupted over the past month due to the big winter freeze. The airline, which is based in Luton, cited higher load factors and a hike in non-UK passengers for its double digit revenue growth over the past quarter.
Snow problems have cost the airline an estimated £8 million. However, the airline did say that 90 percent of its scheduled flights took off during the storms. The chief executive of easyJet, Andy Harrison, said that the carrier has continued to deliver a [...]

It now sounds like easyJet feels that a mandatory emissions standard should be made. The company feels that this would help to ensure a 40 percent reduction in CO2 emissions from the next generation of planes. The budget airline said that greener aircraft would be a lot more beneficial to the environment than continuing to tax the industry. This proposal comes just after a pledge was made by airlines in September to cut the industry’s CO2 emissions in half by 2050.
The chief executive of easyJet, Andy Harrison, said that aviation needs a global solution to emissions problems. The government’s first [...]

It now seems that easyjet has confirmed that it will be withdrawing all copies of its in flight magazine, easyJet Traveler, following its publication of a fashion spread photographed at the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin. EasyJet has now warned other airlines that a tough winter is ahead of them. This announcement came after the airline showed that it had a 65 percent slump in annual pretax profits. The carrier, which is based in Luton, has cited its fall in profits is due to the deep fall in demand from increased unemployment rates. Many people are not traveling right now in order to save money.
Of course, the unemployment rate is not the only thing causing problems for EasyJet. The carrier is also having problems with its very poorly timed fuel hedging. EasyJet is a company which [...]
