The well known UK travel agent, Thomas Cook, has just revealed that it is the latest sponsor of the 2012 London Olympic Games. Thomas Cook became a tier two sponsor in a deal that is said to be worth more than £20 million.

The former staff that took over a Thomas Cook Dublin travel agent have apparently been arrested by police in a raid. Among the 28 former staff at Tomas Cook in the Irish capital, there was a eight and a half month pregnant woman. She was said to have gone into labor as she was removed from the building.

Ryanair has attacked Thomas Cook, wanting the tour operator to justify its customers being overcharged. Thomas Cook has overcharged 2 Ryanair customers by £82, being billed £457.82 instead of £376 for a return fare. The customers were also charged an additional £160 fee for fuel surcharges, even though Ryanair doesn’t impose surcharges on any of their flights. The airline wishes to know how many other customers have been overcharged for their tickets or have suffered from the incurred surcharges.
