Air travelers will get the chance to experience the state-of-the-art A380 of Emirates Airlines for their first time come August 1st when the launch of the aircraft will service the Dubai to New York JFK route.  This is going to be a non-stop, 14-hour flight that will also be The Americas’ first commercial service of the A380.

Emirates’ A380s are powered with engines by Engine Alliance’s GP7200 and can fly as high as 12,000 kilometer while it is full of passengers.  They also provide better petrol economy for each passenger kilometer than most of the hybrid cars that are made.

On August 1st and 3rd, Emirates Airlines will operate their brand new A380 on a commercial basis between Dubai and New York.  This is an addition to the existing non-stop, 2 time a day service.  Emirates will also deploy the aircraft on this route on one of the 2 time a day flights that are scheduled.

Emirates is expecting the delivery of 5 of these aircrafts in their current financial year.  All of them will feature the ultra long-haul arrangement of 489 seats, 399 of which are in economy, 76 that are in business, and 14 of the seats will be first class.  The A380s will also have a cargo capacity of 13 tons.

Emirates is also the biggest customer of the A380 superjumbo aircraft, ordering 58 of them at a value of $18.8 billion at their current price.  They have announced that they will be receive their first shipment of those on July 28th.  Their order book also includes 180 aircrafts altogether, possibly making it the largest order in the history of commercial aviation.
