The car hire process has been made easier thanks to Thrifty Car Rental.
Thrifty has announced the release of the new Personal Digital Assistant (PDAs) enabled automated rental system.
The PDAs will take the place of the more traditional manual documentation process which is currently employed by most rental operators, with the result being a significant reduction in the amount of time spent on administration, allowing customers to benefit from a more efficient overall experience.
The initiative is set to be launched in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which has seen massive growth and development in the car hire industry over recent months as the once low-demand region experiences a boom in rentals. Thrifty Car Rental General Manager for UAE, Rahul Singh, said that the automation of the group’s service represents a major enhancement of the rental process and experience for customers. He added that the lengthy downtime that can exist between the collection and completion of check-ins forms by the customer and the time it takes for counter staff to input these details has been done away with the new process which allows for both greater staff productivity and increased system accuracy.
Under the new technology, any driver who chooses a car at Ras-Al-Khaimah will have their details reflected across the entire Thrifty Vehicle Management System in real time as soon as they complete the PDA form, with this information then available to all Thrifty staff at the touch of a button.
