Online travel agency Sunshine Holidays has released the findings of its study of odd complaints received from U.K holidaymakers abroad, with the feedback ranging from the bizarre to the ridiculous.

The travel agency specialises in cheap tours to the Iberian Peninsula and other bargain based Mediterranean destinations. Among this year’s hot topics were strong alcohol, hot weather and melting ice-cream.

One family holidaying in Portugal wrote to complain about the discomfort in their holiday attire in such sunny weather which had left them hot and sweaty. Another went to the trouble of contacting staff to register a complaint at the number of travelers who ventured abroad using a plain black suitcase which had made his plain black suitcase almost impossible to locate on airport conveyor belts.

A distraught mother had complained that there were too many clouds in the sky during her flight and another that she was rather upset to find complimentary toiletries in her destination hotel which rendered her carrying her own all that way entirely a waste of time.

Children’s entertainment also came in for special rebuke, in one case for being far more entertaining than the parents resulting in a refusal to leave while one lady was quite upset that her ice-cream had melted so quickly at a local amusement park.

Lastly was the couple who contacted their agency to voice their disapproval at the strength of their resorts cocktails which they claim had made them overly intoxicated.

A spokesperson for the agency said that while every effort was made by the company to provide a safe and enjoyable holiday for their customers, they regrettably had no control over alcohol content, clouds, ice-creams or sunshine.
