The Travelodge Wellington is set to finally re-open its doors early June. This is all following its multi-million dollar refurbishment. The Gilmer Terrace hotel is currently the second Travelodge in New Zealandwith. Its sister property, Travelodge Palmerston North, opened about a year ago.
The brand new look of Travelodge Wellington has been in the works for about 8 months and has cost about $11 million to transform it. After the transformation, the 132 room hotel is one of the best 3.5 to 4 star hotels in the whole city.
Shaarn Letele, Hotel Manager of Travelodge Wellington, said that the hotel is in a very prime location. It’s located near Wellington’s financial and shopping hub, as well as close to key attractions like the Wellington Zoo. It is also just about a five minute walk from the harbor.
The rooms at Travelodge Wellington have been completely revamped. This includes new lighting fittings and new security cards. Also, the rooms have been given new LCD televisions. The conference room at the hotel has been given a big face lift as well. This makes Travelodge Wellington the prime spot for small- to medium-size conferences. It has the ability to hold 100 people in the conference room alone.
To keep the Travelodge Wellington in line with other Travelodge brands in Australia and New Zealand, the Travelodge Wellington has a very fresh and modern feel to it. The hotel puts an emphasis on being both a comfortable hotel with up-to-date technology. The hotel also prides itself on efficient services and friendly staff.
